Boots Woodley

Over the past few weeks I have seen a lot of social media  comment about the service in Boots Woodley and  I know that there has been serious concern about the service in the Woodley branch of Boots, despite the super human efforts of the people working there

I have been in contact with the Stores Director and today he visited the store and he has now assured me that plans are in place to deal with the  challenges they face. He does admit that Boots were caught off guard by a combination of Lloyds closing, local doctors signing 3 months’ worth of prescriptions for patients and of  course the corona virus crisis. As a result Boots have been handing 7 times their normal amount of prescriptions.

In response to the situation Boots  has  put plans in place to make things easier for the customers of Woodley.

In summary:

They have increased the number of people working there
Put extra expertise on their online delivery service
Introduced a queuing system outside the store that should mean a maximum of 60 minutes wait
Employed additional drivers to implement a free delivery service

They are still operating a Home Dispensing service (a blister pack for patients taking multiple tablets throughout the  day ) and a full service to local care homes, both of which are apparently operating effectively.

We have agreed to remain in regular contact throughout the current crisis and to this end if you want to share anything about the service  in Boots please contact me on tcm@woodley.gov.uk
